Much of my work straddles the boundary between photography and imagination. While I enjoy making traditional realistic images, I’m most drawn to transforming the ordinary into the unexpected - through radical manipulation, layering, and instinctive experimentation. Patterns, forms, and arrangements become raw material for dreamlike, sometimes mysterious and strange visuals. Often, a simple photo sparks an idea for creative treatments that elevate the scene into something special. Using Photoshop, Topaz Studio 2, and occasionally Nik, I aim to create images that stand out - works that make viewers pause and ask, “What is that?” or “How did he do that?”

I also tend to have an eye for juxtapositions, contradictions, anomalies, humorous and unique situations. When I capture them, it often is with titles conveying what I saw popping into my head even before I press the shutter. And I still enjoy photographing more conventional landscapes, cityscapes, architecture, nature and street photos, lightly processed to emphasize key features for maximum impact.

Here are nine categories with a sampling of images I enjoyed making, many recognized in competitions and exhibits. All over the place - hence the name Focused Eclecticism.
